Up for auction is a great vintage issue of Harper's Bazaar magazine dating from February, 1938 with a large, colored illustration of a pair of scissors cutting through a piece of fabric, drawn by, A.M. Cassandre, on the cover. Themagazine is in very good condition with only some light edge wear and some faint spots of discoloration primarily to the left side of the cover and some light discoloration to the upper right corner of some of the pages in the very back of the magazine and some small spots of discoloration throughout. T is also some light creasing to the very back of the cover. Overall, considering the age, it is in very, very good condition! It measures approximately 9.75” x 13” and t are 150 pages not including the front and back cover. The magazine covers a variety of topics including:New York and Paris FashionsDecorationFiction and Features These are just some of the many story pieces included in the magazine along with great vintage advertising! My favorite backwards sentence in this magazine is on the back cover which has an advertising for Lucky Strike Cigarettes and actress Dolores Del Rio from "Shanghai Deadline". The ad says "Her Throat Insured For $50,000. Dolores Del Rio tells why it's good business for her to smoke Luckies... "That $50,000 insurance is a studio precaution against my holding up a picture,"
