"MORE-RICH ANTIQUES" IN BUSINESS FOR 19 YEARS 1938 MODEL D-50ANTIQUE LAFAYETTE WOOD TUBE TABLE TOP RADIO Pictured below is a 1938 Model D-50 antique Lafayette wood tube table top radio. The wood cabinet has on the right front the airplane style dial, the left has a wrap-over cloth grill with verticle bars, tuning eye, and 4 knobs. It also has a shortwave and police mega cycles, along with AM. The outside cabinet shows some wear due to age and one piece of the veneer on the back of the verticle ribs is missing on the top. Radio has been completely refurbished but we can't get it to play, only makes noises. Mostly a loud humming noise. Stands on two wood runners on the bottom. All four dials match and work great. Tubes light up and cord is in good shape. The previous owner told us that it was reburbished and in working condition, so maybe it needs a good ground and antenia wire. Tuning eyes light up fully. It is a BC,SW,8 tube AC. All our information on this radio came from an Antique Radio Collector's guide. We don't know much about radios, so ask any questions you might have before you bid as we are on email several times a day and will get back to you right away. Cloth is in good shape.
