This copy of the rare Bahnschutz dagger weighs only 12.5ozs in total with the scabbard just 4.5ozs of the full weight. This is the same size and weight as the original dagger. The scabbard (which is the later one-piece construction type) is manufactured from aluminium and a magnet will not stick to it. The blade is stamped with the Paul Weyersberg & Company 'Dagger in Wreath' trademark. The sheathed dagger measures 15.75" (40cm) in total, the dagger itself is 14.5" (37cm) overall and the visible blade is just under 10" (26cm) long. The portapee is a modern copy but sets off the dagger nicely. This dagger was worn by members of the German Railways and was not a Party or Wehrmacht issue so shows no banned insignia and thus is quite inoffensive as per eBay rules. Due to the number of enquiries about this dagger I must stress that it is a COPY or a filler as the original would set you back at least $2800. The blade will not hold a magnet. Your chance to fill that space in your collection.
