RARE 1940s Mammy Walker Pull Toy Complete Compo Set is your opportunity to own this EXTREMELY RARE piece of Black Americana made by Effanbee Doll Co. in 1947. It is featured on page 218 of Ursula R Mertz's Collector's Encyclopedia of American Composition Dolls 1900 - 1950. The Doll Reader 2000 also featured this unique toy in an article. The bright blue doll carriage is 8" tall and 7" long, with a composition body and hood, and a metal under-carriage-- frame, axles and wheels. It is totally ORIGINAL and UNRESTORED-- only slightly color enhanced on the compo part. The metal portion is UNTOUCHED and the pull-string and loop are ORIGINAL. Inside the buggy is the ORIGINAL, darling, 4 3/4" frozen Charlotte Kewpie baby with a pointed blonde tuft on her head and starfish hands on her chest. The cupie is almost ALWAYS missing from these sets. The 9 1/2" tall black mammy doll is all composition, with her arms attached to her body with springs. Her hands have wires which fit into small holes in the doll buggy handle, and her chubby little feet pivot, allowing her to shuffle along when the buggy is pulled by it's ORIGINAL string and early plastic loop. The repainted mammy is dressed in her ORIGINAL DRESS in EXCELLENT CONDITION. Her original apron was missing when she came to live at our house, however she now has one made of vintage dotted read more
