1940 SADDLEBRED-MORGAN HORSE lot 3 photos UPWEY JUBILEE KAY Mrs Huntington Smith This is a wonderful grouping of photos and memorabilia featuring a beautiful dapple gray mare named Jubilee Kay. I found her pedigree online which describes her as being a Morgan/Saddlebred cross born in 1934.Included in this lot is a large matted black and white photo of Jubilee Kay ridden by her owner Mrs Huntington Smith. A September, 1940 copy of The Rider and Driver Magazine which has that same photo on the cover. Inside the magazine is a tiny ad illustrated by Paul Brown. Two framed photos with written descriptions on the back. Framed photo #1 pictures two horses in front of a barn. Written on the back, "1941. Barbourville, Kentucky at farm of Miss Nola Minton, Minton Hackney Farms. Jubilee Kay - (gray), Derry Jane (chestnut). Show horses owned & shown by Mrs. Huntington Smith. Framed photo #2 pictures a couple riding two horses at Upwey Farms, S Woodstock, CT 1934. Written on the back, "A morning ride near Upwey Farms. Mary & Huntington Smith, Upwey Farm South Woodstock, Vermont. I showed Upwey Farm Horses in Vermont and New Hampshire Thurs (In Ladies & Amateur class).Matted photo portrait of Jubilee Kay ridden by Mrs. Smith measures 15" x 11". The Rider and Driver Magazine measures 14 1/4" x 10". The two framed photos measure 5 1/2" x 7 5/8". read more
