Overview These Precisions are the most sought after watches I do – They're mainly in gold or a mixture of gold and steel and to find one in all steel is incredibly rare…. The mid-size steel tear drop case is in excellent condition with only the most minor signs ofwear and a very small amount of pitting on the case back - the Rolex crown, whilst faint, can be seen on the case back. The beautifully elegant and original slightly off-white Rolex signed subsidiary Second (as against centre second) dial has been professionally refinished to the highest possible standards and is just stunning. The raised gilt (yellow gold) Arabic hour numbers along with the original gilt 'stick' hands provide the softest contrast to the dial and give a real art-deco feel. The very high grade Rolex signed manual wind Precision movement is again in fabulous condition and has just been fully serviced by my professional watchmaker. To complete this very special watch I have added a new, high quality black Hirsch and Sonning Vintage Watches crocodile skin strap with a gold plated Hirsch buckle. This is a simply stunning example of this iconic and extremely rare watch. Due to poor light conditions I’ve had to use a mixture a natural and artificial light for these pictures – it looks even better in real life. My asking price is below the value for a watch of this condition and rarity, particularly with the continual rise in value of vintage watches of this high quality. In view of the high grade Swiss movement, I will include a three month written guarantee on the movement, which is long enough for you to assess the working order. Also, I offer a full refund if you are not entirely happy, as long as the watch is returned within seven days for the UK, twelve days if overseas, in the same condition. The Case The provenance polished steel mid-size case is in excellent condition with only the most minor signs of wear and minor pitting to the case back. The case measures 31 mm's wide, excluding the winding crown and 39 mm's, including the lugs. The inside caseback is signed 'Rolex Geneve Suisse' and the case number is '4542'. The Dial The original Rolex signed slightly off-white dial is just stunning and perfectly framed by the tear drop lug case. The raised gilt Arabic numbers and original stick gilt hands flow into the dial and create a deliciously art-deco feel. This dial design and case style are one of the most difficult to find... It is signed 'Rolex Precision' and 'Swiss Made'. The Movement The very high grade Rolex signed movement has just been serviced by my professional watchmaker and is running beautifully. It is signed 'Rolex', 'Swiss Made' and '15 Rubies'. The Strap The watch sits on a new, high quality Hirsch and Sonning Vintage Watches black crocodile skin strap and gold plated Hirsch buckle. The Conclusion This is an extremely desirable and highly collectable vintage watch from one of horology’s most famous names and will, if history is any judge, provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to treasure and enjoy. As every year goes by there are less and less of these iconic watches and the value just keeps increasing. I will provide an insurance valuation in excess of my asking price.
