1940s Young Girls Handwritten Diary Ottoman Virginia Kilmarnock This is a really nice handwritten diary of a young girl living in Ottoman, Virginia. She traveled to Kilmarnock and Richmond many times and dated several boys. She records her first date, her first kiss and more. It has great content throughout. Here is a small sampling of the diary: Cecil and I cough and that Vincent drove and went to Kilmarnock we were supposed to go to Basketball but we went to the movies. Cecil kissed me twice that night, oh boy! Sent a Valentine to Cecil and Boyd made a date with me for Friday night, Cecil told Jane that he was not going if I went with Boyd… Went to Richmond today spent the night with dad went to show with dad, Jennings came up to take me to dance I was in Richmond… Went to school today left school early and went to Ottoman to decorate for dance tonight… Went to Ottoman to clean up from dance to see Earl and went back to the GA meeting, went to Kilmarnock tonight...
