~ A 1941 Inspectors Clinometer MK. III Admiralty By E.R Watts & Son, London ~ This fine and highly desirable heavy brass measuring instrument is presented in its original fitted mahogany and green felt lined case and comes complete with all the original accessories (stability belt and buckle screws) and index instructions. E.R Watts was active between 1922/1926-1948 and were renowned optical instrument makers based in London, England. They traded up to the 1920s as E.R. Watts & Son with E. R. Watts & Son Ltd almalgamating with Adam Hilger Ltd to form Hilger & Watts in 1948. The clinometer, known in many fields as an inclinometer, is a common tool used to measure slope & vertical angles. ~ The Clinometer ~ Mounted inside the case are the official index instructions, the clinometer itself is thusly inscribed; 'CLINOMETER INSPECTORS, 45 DEGREES, MK III, ADMIRALTY PATTERN, No. 364, 1941, E.R WATTS & SON, LONDON' Case is marked 'INSPECTORS CLINOMETER CASE' and bears the marked number '485'. ~ Dimensions ~ The case measures 4.5" (11cm) wide x 12.5" (32cm) deep by 10" (25cm) high. The clinometer measures 3" (8cm) in width x 7" (18cm) in depth x 8" (20cm) in height. ~ Condition ~ The clinometer is in very decent condition.
