This beautiful rare 1941 LADIES COMPACT is from HONOLULU, HAWAII. It is 3 inches square. The cover and back are inlaid with wood. The cover has a colorful map of the Hawaiian Islands. In the lower left hand corner is a picture of the world with N, S, E, AND W. Below that is written THE CROSS ROADS OF THE PACIFIC. On the inside it is engraved with "To- Catherine, From- Marcus, Honolulu, Hawaii, July 25, 1941. The engraving is beautifully written. The mirror is missing. T is some slight rippling on the front. The compact is in very good condition otherwise. T is still some of the orginal powder in it. Perhaps this was a gift to a sweetheart from a service man stationed in Hawaii. An excellent addition for your collection!!Buyer pays $4.60 for priority USPS shipping and handling. Insurance would be $ 1.65 if wanted.
