1941 ~ original WWII War Illustrated magazine. Published weekly during WWII. This is Volume 4, No.71 Churchill "Greatest Hour" edition dated the 10th January 1941. Over 70 vintage photographs & illustrations. The front cover has a picture of Winston Churchill at his desk in Downing Street at the helm of the British War effort. Besides information on current land, sea and air campaigns and articles on all the British Armed Forces, t his was a special edition highlighting the London Blitz with a superb double-page centre spread showing a panoramic photograph of St Paul's Cathedral standing tall on the skyline while smoke from London bombing fires rises all around. Also contains an interesting Cartoon Commentary on the War page and a section on the detailed day-by-day diary of events that week in the War. Cover is very clean for age after more than 70 years. Inner pages also good. Amazingly s till has the original staples and the binding is secure. No loose pages. All the pictures and text throughout are clear and readable. A really memorable "Greatest Hour" original item issued during World War II.
