This nickel Wittnauer compass is stamped with the letters U.S. on top. This is an one WWII Authentic U.S.G.I. Army Air Corp AAC Longines Wittnauer army navy pilot pocket compass. Longines Wittnauer watch company. Near mint condition with little to use. World War II Compass Assembly Pocket Type, Air Forces Order No W535 -- AC-27707, Longines-Wittnauer Watch Co Inc.The compass was made by Longines-Wittnauer during WWII as part of a US Pilots Survival Gear.The case is in excellent condition (some very minor swirl marks). Perfect hinge and release mechanism.The needle lock works well. Dial is stamped: Wittnauer. Compass points strong to North.The paper box and cloth pouch are in great condition.
