THE 1943 COIN YEAR SET The 1943 Coin Year Set comprises of nine coins of this date, namely, Halfcrown, Two Shillings, English and Scottish Shilling, Sixpence, Silver Threepence, Brass Threepence, Halfpenny and Farthing. No pennies were issued for general circulation bearing this date. The six silver coins are struck in 0.500 Fine silver, and their intrinsic value alone, at the present time is WELL IN EXCESS OF £10.00. The minting of Silver Threepences for general circulation in the U.K. ceased after 1941, and those dated 1942, 1943 and 1944 were only issued, (in relatively small numbers), in the British Colonies. The coin in this set has, therefore, returned from far away lands. Housed in a blue year of issue card, and a protective sleeve, the set could be further enhanced by display in a small picture frame, and would make a delightful and unusual gift. Thank you for your interest.
