This 1943 U.S. military Dutch language guide comes with an added bonus: an old bus ticket (see 1st photo). The soldier who used the booklet checked off the vocabulary he considered important and listed a couple of Dutch words (in fountain pen) on the end page. There is a little wear on the binding, but it's otherwise in excellent condition.The guide uses humor and cartoons to impart essential communication skills (see 3rd photo). Next time you're touring Amsterdam, try out these phrases:1. Waar zijn de Amerikaanse soldaten? ---Where are the American soldiers?2. Dekken!-----Take cover!
