An attractive registered, censored cover sent from F.P.O. 309, which according to the enclosed letter, was in Egypt at the time, and sent to New York. The envelope is a 3p King George VI Registered Letter envelope additionally franked with a strip of three Great Britain Scott #247 (SG #474), the 10p King George VII stamp from 1939 which are tied to the cover by three strikes of the Field Post Office 309 postmark dated August 11, 1945. There is a difficult to read marking at the top dated August 18, 1945. A New York Registry Division marking at the bottom dated August 23, 1945. A registered label at the top left and an RAF censor 46 marking at the bottom left. On the reverse is a Field Post Office 156 transit mark dated August 12, 1945 and a New York, N.Y. Station G Registered receiving mark dated August 23, 1945. This cover measures 155mm x 95mm. See scans for condition. Shipping in the U.S. will be $2.50 for a first class parcel with tracking.
