The name of the artist, A. Rivaud, is at the base of the bust along with the year 1945. The reverse has a reproduction of the Arc de Triomphe with the Croix de Lorraine (the symbol used by de Gaulle for the French resistance) and the dates June 18, 1940 (when de Gaulle delivered from London his historical speech launching the resistance) and August 25, 1944 (when de Gaulle arrived in Paris to assume control of the Provisional Government.
