Book – PREP CHARLIE – History of USS Wasp & Air Group in 1945 ww2 + Souvenir Programs + 2 original pictures of USS WASP 1st Anniversary I purchased this book and another (witch will be listed) about a year ago at an estate, the main reason I bought it was the very cool, unusual and unique pictures of the soldiers around the ship and in battle. The souvenir programs were between the pages. The book originally was owned by the retired sailor that served as a cook aboard the U.S.S. WASP CV-18, His signature is found on the second page top right(as pictured). I have enjoyed this book but now it's time for a new home. Description It's a large hard cover book by Lt. Cmdr. James C. Fergus, it has 206 pages. There is light staining on the bottom middle pages (as pictured) and about 2 - 4 pages with very slight tears(as pictured). It is in good condition and very clean still white pages. The binding is blue cloth and is very tight. The front cover shows two signal flags. Book includes chapters of each crew group with individual pictures and bios of each member. The Souvenir Programs Souvenir Program dated 1945 titled NAVY DAY LIFE ABOAD. It has a log of the Wasp with a Statistical summary of the planes shot down ships sunk among other statistics for the Wasp. Also it contains a WELCOME ABROAD Dear Visitor letter from W. G. Switzer Captain
