1946 ESSEX MINIATURE SEWINGMACHINE WITH ORIGINAL CASE, INSTRUCTIONS, CLAMP & WOODEN EXTENSION PLATE. Wonderful miniature maroon coloured sewing machine with it´s original case and instruction booklet. Manufactured by The Essex Engineering Works, 12 Nelson Road, Wanstead, E.11. Apparently made in 1946 when there was a shortage of full sized sewing machines after the Second World War. Known for being well engineered. Works very well indeed, wheel, cogs etc. Has a wooden extension plate and an aluminium clamp. Case in excellent condition. Instruction booklet very good, slight wear around upper staple & small tear in middle of spine where has been folded. The odd mark/scratch on wooden parts, but of minor importance. Excellent collectable item. DIMENSIONS: 22.5cm long(35.5cm with extension)x 18.5cm high x 17cm wide. TOTAL WEIGHT: 2.758kg.
