Original 99 page carbon copy typewritten script. Pages slightly yellow with age, but great condition, no rips or tears except the edges of the cover. The cover is a tan folder with rusted, sliding metal closures. Show Boat is hand printed on the cover. First page says Kern and Hammerstein's New Production of SHOW BOAT As presented Jan. 5, 1946 at the Ziegfeld Theatre. Music by JEROME KERN, Book and Lyrics by OSCAR HAMMERSTEIN 2nd, Staged by HASSARD SHORT, Based on the novel by EDNA FERBER. Dances by HELEN TAMIRIS, Settings by HOWARD BAY, Costumes by LUCINDA BALLARD, Music Director, GEORGE HIRST. Orchestrations by ROBERT RUSSELL BENNETT, Book Directed by Mr. Hammerstein. T are only a couple of pencil handwritten notations inside that I saw, a stage direction and a typo. I assume this is original, because why fake it? My brother lived in New York for many years, was in the musical theater, and loved to collect historical papers at auctions (such as indenture papers, etc.) I assume he got it tOTHER THAN THAT, I HAVE NO PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THIS SCRIPT. WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET. It is definitely a typewritten carbon copy. The date on the first page is the only one mentioned. Do not hesitate to ask questions, or request extra photos or close-ups, whatever. I will answer as well as I can.
