ca. 1947 Embossed Tin Lithograph 7Up Sign "Fresh Up with 7Up....It likes you" This large, very rare sign dates back to ca. 1947 and is believed to have been made by the Stout Sign Company of St. Louis, MO, based on a comparison with the only other sign I could find which is like this one. It measures just slightly under 43-inches tall and 13-inches wide. It came to me via an estate sale of an avid Coca Cola antique collector who also had some vintage 7Up collectibles. It features a big hand reaching down from above and holding a bottle of 7Up. The bottle is embossed in the tin. The label on the bottle shows a woman swimmer reaching up on her tiptoes, with bubbles cascading into her arms. In mint condition, this sign would bring $800 or more, but this is an opportunity to purchase a rare sign at a bargain price due to its fair condition. Obviously this sign has seen some better days and has a significant amount of rust. However, you can be certain that it had a long and useful history beckoning those soldiers who just returned from WWII to come in and fresh up with 7Up.
