This 1947 Emerson “ Emersonette” model 540 is an early Bakelite midget radio. They were advertised as one of the smallest 5 tube models of that time. This radio is mostly untouched and in original condition, except it has a new line cord. It lights up and picks up several stations with good volume. It comes with 3 pages of instructions, including a parts list and schematic drawing. It also has the 2 very difficult to find Emerson castellated knobs and one of the finest complete back cover with installed antenna, and without the top corner damage usually found on this model (see photo). You will not a finer back cover. The Bakelite case is in fine condition with a nice shine and has no hairlines or dings and retains excellent Emerson lettering. The case measurers 6 ½”W x 5”H x 3 ¼”D and will weigh about 5-6 pounds, well packed, when shipped from 48917. I have described this the best that I can, and I can‘t take it back.
