It has been quite a while since I last listed such an early ladies Omega watch here on ebay, but they always seem to be popular. Omegas have an excellent reputation in modern times, and quite rightly so. They have been producing highly desirable watches since 1848 and obviously continue to do so today. They represent excellent value as vintages, as of yet not commanding the second hand values of their counterparts, certainly not the prices they often deserve. This is a ladies hand wound wristwatch from 1949 as determined by its serial number of 11975603 on the signed Omega movement. It is a caliber 244 movement finished in all-gilt with 17 jewels. The movement is clean and runs keeping good time having been regularly serviced. The gold capped case (80 microns) is in good condition for its age, the smallest of dinks on the rear when studied closely. It has a diameter of some 30 x 14mm excluding the winding crown. The inner case back is again fully signed Omega and carries references of 3906-4 and 14573. The cae appears sold gold to the eye and has stunning faceted central lugs and incredibly its original leather strap with gold coloured accessories. The silvered dial is again in original condition with some discolourations as the phtography shows. It has been finished with applied gold Arabic hours and batons with gold hands to read more
