An educator as well as a painter, Dwyer taught art both at the elementary school level and at the University of New Hampshire; in the early 1960s, she created the public television series Art at Your Fingertips, which was broadcast nationally. As a longtime member of the New Hampshire Art Association, Dwyer won nine consecutive awards in the 1970s.
