1950's/1960's ISLE OF MAN POST OFFICE POSTMANS BADGE This enamel badge was issued to postmen on the Isle of Man from the 1950's through to the 1960's & predates the present Isle of Man Post Office 'GPO' represents the 'General Post Office' which encompassed the Isle of Man before the inauguration of the Isle of Man Post Office in 1973 'DO' represents Douglas, where the Islands main Post Office was based The badge measures 44mm x 40mm The reverse inscription reads: "A reward of 1/- will be given to the finder of this badge on handing it in at the nearest Post Office" The loop fixings on the back are intact but there is no pin It has been used daily by the postman & has general wear Pleaser refer to the photos as this is the actual badge you will receive This collectable piece of post office memorabilia is unique to the Isle of Man, where I live & from where I source all of my Isle of Man items This auction has a low starting price & no reserve I am selling more memorabilia & will combine items to reduce postage costs whenever possible for multiple purchases If you live on, or are coming to visit the Isle of Man, collection in person is welcome ****** IMPORTANT NOTICE, PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please contact me before leaving feedback if you are in any way unhappy with your purchase, & I will do all I can to sort out
