Continental Art Co Lamp. Circa 1950 EXTREMELY RARE CONTINENTAL ART CO FAIRY LAMPS, HARD TO FIND A SET WITH BOTH LAMPS IN THIS GOOD OF CONDITION. Adorable large sized pair of lamps made by Continental Art Co. These lamps depict winged fairies sitting atop several toadstools. Circa 1950 Continental Art Company chalk composition table lamps the theme is depicting winged fairy sitting atop several green toadstools. The lamp without the shade measures at a height of approximately 31 inches. These are an absolutely delightful and EXTREMELY RARE PAIR of Continental Art Company Chalk-ware Lamps. EXCELLENT CONDITION TO BE 60 YEARS OLD, they are beautiful fairies that have decided to rest on toadstools with little night lights that work independently from lamp light. Solid Chalk Work by Continental Art has no broken pieces, no chips or scratches. They are in great condition and look and are so very adorable. Great shape for both lamps itself and the electrically lamp, switch and plug and nightlight all work great. There is some slight crackle in paint from age, in small spots but barely noticeable and expected for this age item. The Nightlights work and can easily be replaced with colored chandelier size low wattage bulbs, we have left them original as they look awesome with the blue glow like the moon reflected off of the fairies face and wings. Its a brilliant effect for the time period to have the light blue glow cast over the fairies with just enough blue moonlight to see them resting atop the toadstools, nice for child like memories or romantic characterization.The Continental Art Company produced this line in early 1950 & this model is one of the most rare to find. The decorative motif reflects an era of Post-War romanticism. Almost perfect condition, vibrant, bright colors and in very good shape with no cracks or chips in the Chalk work. Chalk is very heavy and solid, the weight is 16 lbs for each lamp to give you an idea of how solid the Chalk work is. They look wonderful in the colors of the green gold and black as if the fairies are resting or hiding in the toadstools. The Female fairies are pink flesh tone and very much have a Barbie look to their faces and bodies. They are both identical female Fairies. All Electrical works on lights and night lights. Lamps have a Continental Art stamp on the very lower side of the Toadstools and you can see that they are the original colors. Shades were with lamps and work well with the glow of the moonlit nightlights, but the buyer may or may not choose to take the shades as we are not sure they are original and will take larger boxes to ship, but we will be glad to work that out after the buy that will include the shades but shipping the shades will be a little extra. We are selling both lamps AS IS. WE KNOW THEY ARE EXTREMELY RARE. There are some similar LAMPS made by the same company of a different color that are also rare.
