Up for auction is an ORIGINAL 8x10 B&W glossy factory - builders - delivery photos of a 1950's Maxim fire truck lettered for FALLS CHURCH VIRGINIA (VA). You are getting three of four possible views of the truck, left front, right side and rear. It is extremely rare to find three photos together, and all four including the front is almost impossible! The photos that I sell are original Maxim black and white factory photos taken of the fire truck right at the factory prior to delivery to the department.They were professionally taken and are highly detailed and clear. The scans do them no justice whatsoever. W DO THESE PHOTOS COME FROM? The photos were obtained (not by me) at the liquidation auction when Maxim went bankrupt in 1989. I couldn't take a guess at how many more are left out in the collector world. I have approximately 1700+ Maxim photos available at the moment and I usually list about a 10-12. Most are in excellent shape with only a slight curl due to age. They are printed on either Kodak or Kodak Velox paper. Some may have an occasional bent corner (dog ear), slight stain or three hole punch along the top. Given their age (some 50-60 years old!) ALL are suitable for framing. I won't list them unless they meet my approval. Any writing (if present) on the eBay image is NOT on the original photo, but t to protect my images from unauthorized use. I have also cropped the photos a bit and decreased the size for easier uploading and so you can see the detail as best as possible. The actual photo background may be larger than the eBay image. ABOUT THE MAXIM MOTOR COMPANY ......Maxim Motors (not Maxium!) built fire apparatus in Middleborough, Massachusetts from 1914-1989. They built many types of fire apparatus including pumpers, aerial ladders, tankers, rescues, brush trucks, tankers, city service ladder trucks, quadruple combinations (quads), quintuple combinations (quints), hose wagons, squads, military fire trucks, crash rescue, lighting units and many others on their own custom chassis' and also some fire trucks on commercial chassis'. Some of Maxim's favorite commercial chassis' were Ford, Dodge, Chevrolet (Chevy), GMC, White, International, Diamond T and REO. Most of their apparatus stayed in New England and northeast, but they had loyal customers along the East Coast, West Coast, Pacific Northwest and Midwest......... ABOUT ME - I collect Maxim items and have published two books on Maxim, the second was released in March 2004. The historian in me likes seeing these photos fall into the hands of the original fire department, local fire associations or organizations, local historians, historical societies, and/or retirees. At first, I tried selling these photos directly to various fire departments using their websites/email addresses and the internet, but more often than not, most people probably thought I was trying to scam them and didn't realize the value/rarity of these photos. So I am peddling them on eBay, w if someone has an interest, hopefully you'll find them. These would make great gifts for the fire buff, collector or firefighter that might have oeprated one of these trucks! Most of the photos I sell end up framed in the fire stations in the departments that owned these trucks in an attempt to document their departments history. If you have any doubts, check out my feedback rating or ask/email some of my repeat customers! NOTE: I am often emailed and asked if I have additional photos from specific departments. Chances are out of the 1700+ photos I have that I do. If you do inquire and I do spend the time looking through the 1700+ photos for you - please be serious about it. This is only a hobby and working two jobs as well as being the father of two young, energetic sons - t is nothing more disheartening than spending 30 minutes looking for your photos only to have to put them back in the box 3 weeks later because payment was never sent or the person that asked for them lost interest.
