A TRADITIONAL POOLE POTTERY HAND THROWN & HAND PAINTED ROUND BOWL, IN A LOVELY TRUDA CARTER INSPIRED FLORAL DESIGN. Backstamps: 1952-55 - Impressed Mould No. 221 - Elaborate/CS Pattern & mark for Hazel Allner (paintress 1946-57) Size: approx. 140 mm diameter (max) - 50 mm high Based on the classic original John Adams designed decorative wares of the 1930’s, this sweet hand thrown round bowl features a matt white body with a beautiful floral design (pattern CS, elaborate variant), based on Truda Carter’s classic patterns of the 30’s. The interior has a very pale salmon pink glaze. A charming hand made and painted design on a wonderful traditional Poole shape. In lovely vintage condition free of any chips, cracks or crazing.
