You are bidding on a beautiful old production 1950's Dr Grabow Silver duke pipe This is a beautiful and well cared for pipe with very nice crossgrain and birdseye This is an old production piece worth putting in any colection The filter stem is crispy black and sports the old grabow logo inlay This pipe WILL HOLD A FILTER This stem has been cleaned and sanitized and is ready for you to enjoy as soon as you recieve it Clearly marked : Dr Grabow Silver duke Approximate Measurements Pipe length: 5 1/2" Bowl Height: 1 3/4" Bowl Width: 1 5/8" Chamber Width: 3/4" Chamber Depth: 1 1/2" BEAUTIFULLY CARED FOR Dr. Grabow is America’s biggest pipemaker at that time with approximately 250,000 to 300,000 pipes per year The Dr. Grabow pipes began in 1931, as the brainchild of Louis B. Linkman and Dr. Paul Grabow. Linkman was owner of M. Linkman & Co., which had been making pipes since 1892 under the MLC brand. The Grabow family history is that Linkman and Dr. Grabow used to meet for a smoke and bull session in Brown’s Drug Store in Lincoln Park. During one of their discussions, Linkman told Grabow he had an idea for a new line of innovative pipes, and he wanted to use Dr. Grabow’s name and endorsement.
