This is a signed WEISS poodle brooch which measures 1.75 X 1 inches in diameter. It is gold plated and features clear rhinestone accents on the poodle's ears, head, neck and muzzle. He has a red rhinestone eye and a glass cabochon tail. He has a standard c closure in the back and he is signed WEISS. My husband gave this brooch to me in honor of our little poodle "Cottonball." Oh, how I LOVED Cottonball! I still dream of him! In the early 60's I went to a fraternity party in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and one of the members had baby poodle in his room. The guy wasn't being nice to the puppy and I so I grabbed the dog and started asking questions. The fraternity members became upset WITH ME and simply said: "Well then, take him. He's yours." WOW!l! So . . . I snuck that little dog into my purse and took him to my dorm room. I couldn't keep a dog THERE, and so my sweet one year older brother helped me to quickly find a house to rent in order that I could keep the dog. "Cottonball" became the name of the dog . . . and he became quite famous! He waited in the window while I attended classes, and he was a great screener of my dates. If a date wasn't nice to Cottonball, then they didn't get a second chance with me!
