This is a lot of two Brownie Girl Scout books in good condition. The first hard cover book is from 1951: GIRL SCOUT HANDBOOK. It is published by the Girl Scouts of the United States of America. The book has a cover with some wear on the edgesand paper loss in the upper right corner. All pages are in tact with no scribbling, stains or marks. It just has the original owners signature in pencil on the inside front cover. The book is nice and clean. The 1951 book has 95 pages filled with text and black, white and brown line illustrations of games, health and safety issues, how to be a Brownie Scout, arts and crafts, nature, books and plays, special Girl Scout Days, International friendships, homemaking, etc. The 1961 Little Golden Book is entitled BROWNIE SCOUTS / ALL ABOUT THE BROWNIES, THE FUN THEY HAVE, AND THE INTERESTING THINGS THEY DO. It is written by Lillian Gardner Soskin, and illustrated by Louise Rumely. The book has a colorfully printed cardboard cover, and all pages in tact with no tears, marks and bright, crisp colors. The Golden Book includes beautiful color illustrations of rosy cheeked girls on a Brownie Hike, at the Folk Dance Party, Making Spatter Prints, taking a Walk in the Woods, Ivestiture, at a Flag Ceremony, etc. This book has light wear on the spine and corner.
