Offered for your bidding consideration is a vintage David White Transit. The year of manufacture is 1952. The Model number is M-7012. The serial number is 67822. This item is being offered as a library or office display item. It has been on display in my library for the past 15 years. I am a retired land surveyor. We are downsizing and will not have a place for it in the future. When I acquired the Transit I had it cleaned and polished. It has a polished brass finish. It sits on the original base that has been finished in flat black All of the original functional parts are intact. The magnetic compass is intact & functional. The telescope and instrument levels are intact & functional. All of the adjusting screws and locks are intact & functional to varying degrees. With all that said, this transit is being offered for use as a DISPLAY ITEM ONLY . This David White Transit is a perfect gift for a practicing surveyor or civil engineer. The item weighs 18+/- lbs and will be shipped USPS Parcel Post, UPS Ground, or FedEX Ground in the Continental US. The charge for shipping from Zip Code 27281 (NC) to Zip Code 90068 (CA) is approximately $15. My handling fee is $5 making the total $20.
