Great 8x10 B & W photo that has been been hidden away for over 60 years! This was last seen in newspapers on June 11, 1954. The Tigers had just pounded the Philadelphia A's 16 to 5. The 5 players shown had accounted for 14 of those 16 runs. Pictured is a 19 year old Al Kaline in his first complete season with the Tigers having played only 30 games in his rookie year in 1953. Kaline hit one of the two grand slams by the Tigers in this game. Pictured with Kaline are Ray Boone, Ray Herbert, Frank Bolling, and Wayne Balardi. ( Note: caption actually reads Al Herbert & Milt Bolling in error ) Kaline hit just 4 home runs in 1954 and this is his first ever Grand Slam. Al went on to win the batting champioship in 1955, batting.340 with 27 HRs. This is a numbered photo limited to just 100 pcs. This very rare high quality photo was reproduced from the original photo.
