1954 GM EMD Operating Manual No. 2319 for GP9 Diesel Locomotive Description Vintage January 1954 edition of the Diesel Locomotive Operating Manual No. 2318 for Model GP9 with Vapor Car Steam Generator. Published by the Electro-Motive Division, General Motors Corporation, LaGrange, Illinois. This manual contains general date of GP9; description; operation; location and correction of difficulties on the road; cooling, lubricating oil, fuel oil and air systems; electrical equipment; steam generator Model OK-4625; and pull-out plate for typical GP9 locomotive schematic wiring diagram. Manual is well illustrated with black/white photos, diagrams and charts. And there is one full-page color plate showing the general arrangement of the GP9. These manual is in good used condition. Measures approximately 5.00" wide by 8.25" tall. The manual is housed in a hard cover binder style and overlaps the internal pages. The binder has surface wear, soiling/stains, some surface loss along bottom edge and spine edges. Internal pages are generally clean with some edge nicks and corner tip creases. Previous railway engineer's name and employee number is inked stamped throughout the manual. Noticed only one page that contains pen notations and that is on the general data page.
