1954 Ray Schalk Single Signed Baseball

Pricing & History
1954 Ray Schalk Single Signed Baseball. When Eddie Cicotte and Lefty Williams failed to throw the pitches he called for in the 1919 World Series, Schalk was convinced that something more than poor control was at the heart of the matter. The Chicago catcher, believed by many to be the greatest defensive backstop of his day, remained honest through those dark Black Sox days, paving his way to an eventual Hall of Fame plaque in the process. Here we find a rare single from the 1955 inductee, inscribed on the sweet spot "With Kindest Regards, Ray 'Cracker' Schalk." An unknown hand has penned "1954" on the northern panel just above the stitching. All ink is 8/10 or better, and the "Official League" ball remains clean and white.
