This model issued exclusively for the "2004 Annual Automotive Festival" Limited Edition Model, formerly known as the Pebble Beach collection Offered for only 2 years, the1955-56 Porsche 356 speedster was a phenomenon. With its 4-cylinders, it was fast, and wow, could it handle, (once you learned how to control the rear-end). From 1949 to 1964, the 356 series Porsches were able to show most contemporary sports cars a thing or two about speed and style. This Speedster was the sportiest of them all, with its low windshield, tiny convertible top and side curtains. The shape became an icon. Even today’s Porsches show the basic shape if this car. This is a terrific Franklin Mint effort. It’s got the lines perfectly and the interior detail is great. Tiny details abound with stone guards over the headlights, and, well, wait ‘till you see the engine and the rear deck lid with the photo-etched grill. In the front trunk there is the gas tank and spare tire held in place with a leather strap. The chassis is equally well done with a detailed crankcase, transaxle and exhaust system, plus a working suspension. This car is in MINT CONDITION and probably was never displayed . It comes with the Hang Tag and is packed in the Styrofoam Liner and Outer Shipping Box. Paperwork includes the Certificate of Authenticity and Schematic. Don't miss this read more
