1955 Silver US Proof Set in original cellophane FLATPACK with original envelope Description The purchase price is for ONE low-mintage 1955 U.S. proof set still sealed in its original cellophane panel. Comes with its original envelope as well. There are multiple sets offered within this listing, but THEY ALL COME from my personal collection. (Started with 18 of these a few weeks ago, down to only 1 as of this re-listing. There is still time, BUT I AM DOWN TO THE VERY LAST ONE!The envelopes may be heavily worn or written on, or pristine, but the coins are GORGEOUS. The vast majority are bright white untoned gems. There will be an occasional coin with just a hint or touch toning. THERE ARE NONE spotted, damaged, ugly toned or with other quality issues. Buy with confidence, these sets are super!Most people know 1955 was a transitional year in US proof sets, with the packaging going from the old small cardboard boxes to the new flat manila envelopes. BUT many people don't realize that 1955 flatpack proof sets also have several variations. The manila envelopes come in various shades of yellowish-brown to brown. Some of the envelopes come with top-flaps and some come with end-flaps. ALSO, some of the cellophane panels come with the little silver Philadelphia proof tag inside, while a few produced early in the transition period DO NOT. read more
