1955 Ted Williams First Sports Illustrated - CGC 9.6, Pop Four with Two Higher

Pricing & History
1955 Ted Williams First Sports Illustrated - CGC 9.6, Pop Four with Two Higher. Though he was much closer to retirement than his debut my the time this issue of Sports Illustrated hit newsstands on August 1, 1955 you wouldn't be out of line to call it his "rookie" issue. After sitting out the first month of the season due to a divorce settlement the Splendid Splinter lead the American league with a .356 batting average whilst blasting 28 home rungs and winning Comeback Player of the Year. The graphics and colors, matching the lofty 9.6 grade from CGC, display boldly and beautifully. The graders have also noted that the publication contains a "Memo to Advertisers insert" and the interior pages rate as "WHITE". With only three others graded at this level and two higher, high-grade SI collectors would love to add this issue to their stash. Encapsulated by CGC, 9.6.HID03201242017 Grade: 0, Service No.: 2214220
