Profile: The Parker 45The U.S.A. of the 1950s and early 1960s was deeply into the world of TV Westerns. So tfore follows that it's really no wonder that when Parker introduced its first cartridge-filling fountain pen in 1960, the pen wore a name that tied it to the ever present and well know, Colt .45 Peacemaker and so the Parker 45 was born. The name was a the country's nod of approval, of course, but its real purpose was to tell the pen buyer that this pen was as easy to load as the "other" 45 -- just open it up and drop in a new cartridge. An added value was the inclusion, as trumpeted by the 1961 advertisement of a converter that allowed the pen to use bottled ink or cartridges as the user preferred. Parker pens are truly a superior made product and very collectible for many 1960 Parker Burgundy Fountain Pen & Ballpoint Pen Set This set is very much like new T is an ink cartridge in the pen that is nearly empty so it was probably used some since t is ink on the nib but as you can see from the nib condition it is very, very nice Comes in the original box, has all of the original blue cartridges This comes from a drug, alcohol and tobacco free home.
