When the Cultural Revolution first began in the early 1960s, the banners and books were very crude. As the power of the Red Guard strengthened, by the early 70s, the stuff got more kitschy, and we have a lot of that as well. But this is early, when rug shops made these banners on with pile, and sew shoppes stitched them with machines by hand. 1960s for sure, i looked for these my last visit to China for they have a better feel of the early days of that horrible thing they called the Cultural Revolution. Embroidered on cheap brown linen cloth, 28 x 39, some fraying, so be careful. Be gentle Winner pays 5.95 S&H dom, Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation.
