A very large and interesting and obviously very rare Ekman Merz professional water current test meter in its original box with accessories and tools. I don't know much about this unit, or how it is or was used, but I did find very limited information on the internet in general that gave me what information I do have about it. It employs a three stage mechanical counter driven by a removable propeller that was obviously used to measure the strength and possibly the direction of water and tidal currents. As far as I can tell, this unit is still 100% functional although t is much I don't know about it. When installed, the propeller spins nicely and the counter advances as it should. T are peripheral items included such as a shot sensor 'compass' and a shot dispenser that is about 1/2 full of shot pellets. All the tools and hardware items shown in the photos are also included. This is a very large and heavy unit. The entire kit with the box weighs 40 lbs. and the box measures 25" x 15 3/4" x 10 1/4". The current meter itself measures 45 3/4" long when fully assembled with a height of 23". The propeller housing diameter is 6 1/2" while the diameter of the propeller itself is just a shade over 6". The meter itself weighs 14 lbs. when fully assembled. The body is nicely balanced when fully assembled so it can be dropped into the water on read more
