This vintage dress probably dates from the late 1960s. The fabric is a sheer, midnight blue chiffon that is heavily embroidered with metallic silver designs. The dress is fully lined with a silky fabric but the sleeves are unlined. There is a wide, cummerbund style band at the waist. The skirt is lightly gathered on either side of the front and back. There is a vinyl zipper in the center back with three hooks-and-eyes at the cummerbund waist. The label reads, "Futura Couture of New York" and it is marked a vintage size 12. Please check the measurements, though, because current size 12s and vintage size 12s are not the same. The dress is in excellent condition with no holes, tears or stains. The measurements are: shoulder to shoulder - 15 1/2 inches; bust - 38 inches; waist - 30 inches; hips - 42 inches; waist to hem - 27 inches. I measured the lining to get the hip measurement. The chiffon skirt is much fuller than the lining.
