You are bidding on a superb and vintage pre-smoked briar pipe. it is a variation on the theme "Billiard" with an oval shank, and saddle flat mouthpiece. This pipe was made by Chapuis-Comoy & Cie pipes manufacturer, St. Claude, France, in the years 1960's. It shows a "CHAPUIS-COMOY" stamp, and "Deauville" pipe-line or grade stamp. The finishing of this pipe is a warm walnut color smooth texture that enhances a beautiful cross-grained. The mouthpiece shows signs of teeth on both sides but they have not procured holes. That said, this pipe is in very good condition, with the exception of minor damage to the mouthpiece (see pictures) by A brief history of Chacom Pipes (or Chapuis-Comoy) The brand was created in 1928 and it is the result of the fusion of the first three letters of the names Chapuis and Comoy. This mark has a long history that unties him, with various interlacements, between France and England. The departure is found in a family Comoy that manufactures pipes of boxwood in Napoleonic epoch and it is it before, toward 1856-1860, to adopt the briar for the manufacture of the modern pipe.
