1961 Barbie Ponytail Train Case with 30 pieces of vintage handmade clothing! This case with vintage clothes is more fun than perfect. This case was used exactly how it was made to be used, two little girls in the 1960s used it to hold the clothing that their grandmother lovingly made for their Barbies. They took the case to friends' houses, they set it on the floor beside them as they played. The case shows the wear of this play, it wasn't abused but it was used and enjoyed! The handmade clothing varies in condition and quality. Most of it is very good quality (the Grandma like many back then was handy with a needle and thread) and still in very nice condition, although some could use ironing. It is possible that a few pieces (and only a few) may be authentic untagged Barbie clothes but the majority are handmade. Many different types of fabric were used, including some of Grandpa's ties! There are a few pieces that are not as well made, most likely some early efforts from the little girls. There are just over 30 pieces including evening gowns, a wedding dress, blouses, casual wear, and skirts. This case and clothing was kept carefully in storage for years. Now it's out and ready to be enjoyed again. Perhaps your home is just where it belongs! Condition Notes: Vinyl case has split along the back edge where the lid meets the case - lid stays on even when completely unzipped Zipper has some discoloration/rust on the pull but not on the teeth. It works perfectly. Case has some shallow scuffing, mostly on the underside. Hardware is age discolored. No longer has mirror in lid of case Painted design on front looks very nice with no obvious scrapes or scratches. Overall condition of clothing is good to very good. Buttons and snaps all seem to be in place No obvious rips or tears (although I did not inspect every seam but overall did not see any tears). Quality varies on handmade clothing from quite excellent to a few pieces that appear to be made by a child. Most were made by a talented and loving grandmother. A few pieces may be untagged vintage authentic Barbie pieces.
