With only a few games remaining in the 1961 season, and Ford Frick's asterisk ready to be placed in the record books, Roger Maris calmly strode to the plate in the bottom of the 3rd inning of home game No. 77 at Yankee Stadium. Facing Baltimore Orioles hurler Jack Fisher, Maris sent an 0-2 pitch (did Fisher really pipe one on 0-2?), deep into the right field seats, hitting his 60th homer of the season and tying Babe Ruth's long held season home run record. The lucky fan that held this stub was able to witness baseball history. While the hobby often sees Maris 61st home run stubs come available, it is the much scarcer 60th home run stub which is on most collectors want lists. The stub has light to moderate corner wear, some light discoloration and a handwritten "Maris 60 homer" on the reverse. A scarce and highly desirable ticket stub from Roger Maris' season record tying home run game. Encapsulated by PSA as AUTHENTIC.
