Yuri Gagarin was the first astronaut to Orbit the Earth on 12 April 1961 Base is catalin bakelite, dated APRIL, 12 1961, terrestrial globe is gilt metal; the rocket is red plastic. Globe model is in very good condition for its age without chips or cracks. Measures 2 3/4"tall x 2 1/4"base diameter Early Space Memorabilia becomes rarer nowadays.
