A blue Jet illustrated "X-15 Air Force-NASA-Navy-Edwards AFB Calif John McKay" cachet on this 7ct Jet Airliner Silhouette stamp Scott# C60 franked spaceplane airmail cover. A September 28, 1962 Edwards Air Force Base Calif. postmark ties the stamp to this cover addressed to Henry E. Josten in Deep River, Connecticut. This early space cover was autographed by the Pilot, John B. McKay. This unsealed cover is in very fine condition.Pilot John B. McKay flew this X-15 Flight #121 experimental spaceplane on Sep. 28, 1962. A few weeks later on November 9, 1962, John McKay piloted one of the other experimental spaceplanes X-15-2 Flight #125 which crashed on landing injuring Pilot McKay.
