This is an original 1962 lithograph of the original linocut by Pablo Picasso, created with one block: ocher, brown, black. Limited Edition, unnumbered and unsigned.Period Paper has acquired a large collection of original lithographs of linoleum cuts (linocuts) by Pablo Picasso. Picasso worked in this medium extensively from 1958 to 1961. These lithographs were created for an unnumbered and unsigned limited edition in 1962. The Galerie Louise Leiris, Paris loaned Picasso's original linocuts for the creation of these lithographs. During this production, an additional 50 lithographs were created in large format and were hand-signed by Picasso and which can be found online priced between $26,000 and $180,000 per linocut. Only a rare few of these smaller lithographs were hand-signed by Picasso. The items offered are the lithographs most sought after by collectors, second only to the hand-signed group of 50. They are extraordinary in their creation, detail, and condition. They are regarded unconditionally as fine art and consistently appreciate in value. This 46+ year old item is rated Near Mint according to the grading guidelines established by the National Archive of Illustration and Advertising Art. No water damage. No tears. No surface rub. No creases. No natural defects. T is some very faint foxing in the margins of the outer border which does not affect the image --please see our digital image. Strong contrast. An excellent original image for framing! Accompanying this item will be a Certificate of Authenticity issued by the National Archive of Illustration & Advertising Art (NAIAA). This item is certified authentic and will be registered in the NAIAA database and assigned a unique number which will be on the certificate and will be used to identify the digital master file maintained in the database. The NAIAA uses a two-part authentication system and will issue both the COA and a Print Identification label with matching numbers. The certificate and label will have the NAIAA security seal and each are printed on different custom papers and embossed to eliminate reproduction. This certificate is hand-signed and dated and documents the grade issued according to the NAIAA grading system.
