1962 NASA Press Photo. This is an original press photo issued by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Photo measures approx 8x10 inches. Photo is dated May 24, 1962. NASA official photo number KSC-62PC-51. NASA caption: KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA. - Mercury Atlas 7, lifted off today from Complex 14 carrying Astronaut Scott Carpenter and the Aurora 7 for the second manned orbital mission.Please look carefully at our images of this vintage photo to determine the condition, since it might not be in perfect condition. It might have wrinkles, cracks, and, in some cases, possibly rips due to its age and how it was handled by newspaper or magazine editors.
