Pricing & History
1963 Topps Roberto Clemente #540 SGC 82 EX/NM+ 6.5. Roberto Clemente remains to this day one of the most beloved figures in the history of our National Pastime, and particularly among fans of a Latin heritage. Although it was teammate Bill Mazeroski who clubbed one of the team's most famous home runs to claim an unlikely World Championship in Pirates history and it is the great Honus Wagner who is considered "the" Greatest All-Time Pirate, neither holds such an endearing and intimate place in the hearts of fans as does Clemente. He will always be remembered as the heart and soul not just of his Pirates teammates but the people of Pittsburgh and his native Puerto Rico. The first eight lots of this auction represents the entire run of Topps baseball cards starting with his coveted rookie from 1955 to his final Topps card from 1973. Offered is Clemente's Topps high-number card, #540 from the 1963 series. Graded SGC 82 EX/NM+ 6.5. The card displays light wear at corner tips, deep colors with slight off centered graphics. The SMR value is between $100 and $175.00 Grade: 0, Service: SGC, Service No.: 2018227
