This is a no reserve auction for a pair of brilliant uncirculated proof like gem 1964 Canada silver dollars still in the original cello packets in which they were packed at the Royal Canadian Mint in 1964. In fact these two mint state gems came right out of the box that the mint mailed them to California in back in 1964. You can't get much more original and pristine than that.. These silver dollars have always been one of the great values in large silver coins in my opinion and with precious metal prices in a very volatile phase that has never been more true than right now! .The 1864-1964 Charlottetown Quebec issue is a special issue made only in 1964 to commemorate an important conference that helped to plan for the process that would result in confederation in 1867. The subtle design on the reverse has symbols representing four of the important groups of settlers who would help to create the modern nation of Canada. The English, the French, and settlers from Ireland and Scotland. It has the early effigy of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse side. The pictures are not perfect but should a give reasonable idea about what perfect looking silver dollars these are. Please appreciate that the silver dollars are still sealed in crinkly plastic from 1964 that creates some shadows and distortion. Normal viewing is no problem. It is glare read more
