1966 Fender Vibrolux Reverb! Very Clean, 100% Original with Footswitch!No Reserve and Cheap Worldwide Shipping! ITEM: For your consideration is this 1966 Fender Vibrolux Reverb Amp (AA864) electric guitar amplifier. The blackface Vibrolux is one of the most sought-after Fender amps ever made, as the thoughtful speaker arrangement is well-complemented by the overall design of the amp. Blackface amplifiers are quite collectible, and the Vibrolux Reverb is one of the most desirable models.This particular example, serial number A 06609, was recently purchased from a local collector. Aside from the usual and inevitable service several years ago, the amp remains in 100% original condition with the original footswitch. Vibrolux Reverb Amps in similar condition have sold for over $3,600.00+ on eBay, so take advantage of this No Reserve auction with cheap Worldwide shipping as the highest bidder wins regardless of price!While the tube chart does not seem to display a visible date stamp, all components inside this amp indicate an early-mid 1966 assembly. The black face plate reads "Fender Musical Instrument Co.," which is unique to CBS-produced amplifiers made between 1965-1967. The transformers (606621,--606621,-606-6-22 -606624) indicate mid-1966 production. The original (2) Jensen C10NS 10" speakers are both dated 220-610 (early-1966) .This amp is in very excellent condition. Having been stored in a temperature controlled environment for the past 20 years, it has never been subjected to gigging, touring, or abuse, and has been well taken care of in the same room by previous owner. The amp was lightly serviced to be enjoyed, and nothing that didn't need to be replaced was touched: only the inevitable electrolytic capacitors, tubes, and power cable end (only) were replaced. The power cable is original, but the two-prong head was replaced with an industrial-grade 3-prong. Otherwise the amp is 100% original. The same matching production stamps and grease pencil numbers appear on the cabinet, chassis, and baffle.The amp works perfectly and sounds absolutely amazing. This amp beautifully reproduces the classic blackface warmth and clarity, for which it has become famous. Since it was only used in a careful context, the amp speakers are extremely efficient and sound clear without speaker fatigue or voicecoil distortion. The speakers are very tight, and really do sound excellent. The tonality is great, and the amp produces a very lush yet clear sound with a variety of guitars. The tone can best be described as, sweet and pleasant: yet distinct and clear with loud bell-like tone, much like that of it's brother the Vibroverb. While some consider the Vibrolux Reverb to be a double Princeton Reverb, or a unique interpretation of the Pro Reverb circuit, it is definitely one of the most practical amps Fender made, and shares the same schematic/tube layout as the iconic Vibroverb AA763. Loud and clear without harsh or brash tone, the Vibrolux Reverb is perfect for recording, home enjoyment, and/or live performance.The particular amp has the richest and sweetest reverb of any Fender amp we've had in a long while. For whatever reason, the reverb has extreme depth that is creamy and smooth. The Vibrato also works exceedingly well, and while it is very dramatic and bold, it remains very musical and un-robotic, with lots of personality. This is the amp for the discerning player or collector who does not want to be the first to scratch a mint over-priced amp.While this amp is in very excellent condition (some would say it's near mint,) it has just enough wear to be comfortable using and enjoying it. With the usual light vinyl scratches, small pressure dents, and minimal oxidation on metal parts. The original cloth speaker cable from the amp to the speakers exhibits fatigue, and wear to the wire underneath, however, it works fine without issue.
